GLSEN Greater Kansas City (GLSEN-GKC) is a chapter of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). They center their attention on communities in the Greater Kansas City area in Missouri and Kansas, but they also reach out to communities as far away as Springfield, MO as well as Manhattan and Wichita, KS.
GLSEN-GKC, like all GLSEN chapters, plays an important role in bringing GLSEN’s programs and visions to its local community and like most GLSEN chapters, GLSEN-GKC is entirely volunteer-based. They are always looking for new volunteers to help ensure safe schools for all students. Locally, the work that GLSEN-GKC does covers a variety of subjects and issues, from public policy to teacher training to supporting students and educators in the Heart of America. They cooperate with other organizations that have similar missions to help ensure safe schools for all students.
