The Center for Artistic Revolution was founded in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2003 by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Queer Arkansans (LGBTQ) and their straight allies who believe that all people should have equitable access to fair treatment, a democratic political process, and economic and environmental justice. Through our youth work and young adult group DYSC (Diverse Youth for Social Change), CAR has been able to access the now 13 GSAs in the state of Arkansas. DYSC was established as a support and mentor program for LGBTQ/Straight Ally youth ages 13 thru 22 and we see as many as 35 youth each week. It is with the help and outreach from youth like DYSC that CAR has been able to connect with the high school and college GSAs in the state and offer assistance with the establishment and continued success of each Gay-Straight Alliance.
