GSA Day for Racial Justice was launched in 2015 to mobilize LGBTQ+ youth and allies for racial justice through teach-ins, direct actions, and online campaigns to show solidarity. This year, youth are coming together in a really powerful way to protect their safety, defend their rights, and resist hate violence and discrimination. The theme for this year’s #GSADay4RJ is PROTECT. DEFEND. RESIST. Each week leading up to February 24th will focus on one topic, and this week’s focus is PROTECT. We will be sharing safety resources throughout the week so that you can PROTECT yourself and your communities.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Take a photo holding a sign that says “#TQYouthPROTECT… [fill in what you want to protect]” and share to social media with the hashtags #TQYouthPROTECT and #GSADay4RJ. Make sure you tag @GSANetwork and @GSADay! Get your friends to do the same.
Follow GSA Network on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and repost safety resources, read stories from GSA clubs across the nation, and find updates on #GSADay4RJ.
Sign your GSA up to be included in our National Registry – you’ll receive special stickers and resources.
Use this form to share your actions with us and your campaign may be featured on the GSA Network website and social media. We want to hear how you or your GSA club will PROTECT. DEFEND. RESIST. in your school or local community.
Stay tuned for weekly updates here, and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to check in daily.
